I worked recently as a vendor with Home Depot, but due to various aspects of compensation and other things I don't really need to get into, I decided it didn't make sense to stay at that job very long and it was time to move on. I thought I might try and apply for a job opening with Home Depot in the meantime. I've been going through by zip code applying to jobs with the various Home Depots in my area through the Home Depot Careers site. This month, I’ve discovered that Home Depots across LA have begun stocking frydeks at many of their stores, for 30 dollars a plant. Each plant comes with 1-3 but pretty poor quality soil, so they’d need a repot pretty quickly. I went to a few stores trying to find a “perfect” one but no matter where I went, I felt like each plant had at least one cosmetic issue somewhere. I love dogs… I love dogs more than most people. But I can’t stand that 99% of dogs I see in stores and other businesses are clearly not service dogs (sorry Karen, that “service” collar you have on your happy little dog that just took a dump on the floor isn’t fooling anyone). Currently I think the only rule is if a worker asks if the animal is a service dog and the owner says “yes” that you have to take them on their word. That’s BS. Hello everyone. My wife and I bought a house and the first project was to start redoing 2 of the rooms hardwood floors that were in the worst shape. After watching many videos I gave it a go. We removed the quarter round but left the molding. After trying 80 grit in the closet I went for 60 on the main floor and quickly realized we needed 36. Even with 36 it took several passes to get up some of the rougher spots. Went 36/60/80. On the last pass with the edger I noticed after I left some pretty deep scratch marks. I wanted to return the equipment to Home Depot to save another day of rental and worry in a rush I may have left scratches by not keeping it flat enough? I had to use a palm sand...

Well this was enraging to find out. I bought an extra exterior door lock set but didn’t end up needing it for the repair. I assumed I could just return it like I would any item but their return policy treats Instacart items as only store credit? What a ****** policy. I think I’m done with Instacart if returns are handled this way. My own fault for assuming Instacart wasn’t so shady. If my locksmith repair wasn’t at 8am on a Sunday I would have bought it myself but I didn’t know about this policy. Never using Instacart again, it’s just not worth it.

When I worked construction my boss had a list of items to buy at Harbor freight and items to not to buy. I remember solid base tools like pry bars were a BUY because there wasn’t a need to buy a Dewalt pry bar at Home Depot. I forgot what else was on the list….. I really wish I kept it. I would ask him but he died a few years ago because of asbestos related complications. Any ideas what else might be in the BUY AT HF list, that there is no need to buy at other stores?

I bought my M9A4 used (very first gun actually!), and it had all the important stuff included but no spare O-rings for the threaded barrel. I shot it for the first time today and found the installed O-ring is a bit too old: the thread protector kept getting loose after 20-30 rounds fired. Any place to order a set of replacements? Took some time to lock in the december since a few deals closed out earlier this week. For selling been sticking to fb marketplace and its been solid for me, still got 6 things sitting unsold though so maybe ill try something else for those or just find a use or gift them away. Overall profit couldve pushed higher but took the holidays off since this is just a sidehustle still and spent more time with close ones.
