I went to the grocery store today after work and I had the hit Smosh comeback song stuck in my head. Her house was dirty but not junky. It took me two hours to mop the kitchen, dining and hallway. All the same flooring, mostly white. I had to dump the mop bucket at least eight times, it was so dirty. It’s a 3/2 ranch. I’m currently on a bus stuck in complete gridlock because my suburban neighbourhood gets shutdown entirely in every direction when there’s a car accident and there’s virtually no bus lanes even on the major roads. This seems to happen almost any time I try to leave my suburb and go into the city centre and I am so done with it. I’ve been on the bus for a ******* HOUR and im not even halfway through what should be a 40 minute bus ride 2 weeks from now I’ll be moving to a city in Central Europe that’s lined with metro lines and commuter rail as well as trams. 5 minute walk away from a metro station and grocery stores, restaurants, bars, museums, and anything else within 10 minutes...

This happened in the Albertsons parking on Rainbow and Warm Springs. An old lady in a Mercedes Benz nearly hit my car while trying to back into a parking spot. I honked my horn to make her aware and fix her position. She decided to roll down her window, flip me off, and tell me to go back to China…… I’m Black. Afro and all. Now, don’t get me wrong, that lady was a racist POS, but it made me laugh. I don’t know whether it was from her own stupidity, or the fact that she got so mad that she left the parking lot altogether and never went in the store.

Take a rural size store of about 20000 square feet. Maybe it's an IGA or some generic franchise. 2 percent of 90k in weekly sales is still less than a 100k a year job. Even a solid index fund or some high paying dividend stock is the financially better way to invest some half million compared to some grocery biz. Throw in some shady vendors or unscrupulous wholesaler with horrible produce and expensive meat, then it's no wonder the independent franchise stores go through 10 different owners in 2 decades. What's the catch? Do these guys end up losing their homes and cars if the business fails, or do the creditors just go after their grocery store?

Make sure you and your community at large make an active effort to your local grocers such as Target or Costco and request them and show them there’s a large interest for them to carry halal meats. Grocers will ONLY cater to the community they know that will buy groceries. Get your friends and family to ask for the general managers or reach out to your grocers website or app and submit feedback and request for halal options. You won’t get it unless you ask for it. Seriously. This DOES work but the local store needs to know there’s an interest and a market.
